Full Moon Party - Koh Phangan

The first Full Moon Party was in 1987 or 1988, no one is sure, and it was someone's birthday. It was a good party for the team met again at Paradise Bungalows and fun at the next full moon. From there the party grew into a mecca for tourists in the 90s, then became a dance music festivals in the world today, attracting thousands of tourists from different backgrounds.

Currently there are 10 main sound system on the beach all the psy-trance to drum and bass with each of them represents a different species. Sizes range from 8,000 in low season crowd grew to 30,000 in high season, and in accordance with the growing popularity of the party, Haad Rin has expanded to accommodate their guests. Currently there are over 5,000 rooms and hundreds of trendy bars, boutiques, restaurants and of course the nightlife. If you want to come and enjoy the Party consider booking a room in Haad Rin, Koh Phangan, such as jams the premises before the full moon.

Brief for Full Moon Party participation :

1. Take only enough money, may be split into two pockets. Estimate 3000 Baht should be cover most event.
2. Take only copy of your ID or passport, don't bring the original and leave you valuables in the resort safe. Take care of your valuables in safety lockers are available for hire in many travel agents in Haad Rin.
3. Wear shoes; sometimes bottles breaking on the beach.
4. It gets hot very quickly in the morning, so cover up from the sun to avoid getting burnt.
5. Our advice is don’t be tempted by drugs; this island has had a bad reputation for a long time and the open taking of drugs is not tolerated. Thailand has also had a crackdown and the police are very hot on stopping the problem. The days are gone when you could buy your way out for a few dollars and the penalties in Thailand ar harsh to say the least – expect a hefty fine and possibly an extended jail them if caught.
